What is the difference between Sound Power and Sound Pressure

Sound Pressure Level is what you will ultimately hear

Sound Power and Sound Pressure are both measured in decibels.  Sound Power is always higher than the Sound Pressure.  In practice the Sound Pressure is the one you will be looking at.

Which Sound Level should I look at

Sound pressure is what we hear, so you should be looking at the Sound Pressure Level. You can find the Sound Pressure Levels from the specifications on our website catalogue under Noise Level for each model.

Sound Power Level

The Sound Power Level is a measurement of the sound level when the appliance is switched on without taking into account any factors in any particular room.

You may be able to find this measurement on the Energy Label that comes with your appliance.

Sound Pressure Level

The Sound Pressure Level on the other hand, takes into account the pressure disturbances in the room.

The sound pressure level is the pressure disturbances in the room where the appliance is placed in.  Typically there are pre-defined conditions such as the size of the room, the type of surfaces within the room, the location of the equipment and the distance of the appliance from the measurement point.
